Hebrews 12:25-29

In Hebrews 12:25-29 the author gives a final exhortation not to turn away from the Lord. Since there are greater privileges in the New Covenant associated with approach to Mt. Zion, the christian ought not to refuse him who speaks from heaven.  This all the more since he has received as unshakeable kingdom.

Hebrews 10:26-31

In Hebrews 10:26-31, the author, after encouraging the people to hold fast to their confession, offers a warning to all of those who turn away from Christ.  Ultimately, the sin of apostasy is worse than any other.  Not only that, but apostasy under the New Covenant is much worse than that under the Old.  Here is the warning: do not turn away from Christ.  It is a fearful thing to fall into the hands of the living God.

Matthew 12:22-29

In Matthew 12:22-29 the Pharisees accuse Christ of casting out demons by the prince of demons. They see what is obviously a good work which could only be done by the power of God (cf. John 3:2) and yet choose to say that this was done by Satan. Christ, however, shows that what he has done was done by the power of the Holy Spirit, and therefore the Kingdom of God has come.
