It’s been a little while! In 2019, the women of our presbytery gathered for the 41st annual retreat. Plans were underway for the 42nd retreat, but as everyone knows a lot of plans didn’t survive the past couple of years. By God’s grace, though, plans are underway for another retreat on October 15, 2022. We will be returning to our familiar venue at the DoubleTree Hotel in Pleasanton. As in years past, you will be able to book a discounted room for the night of Friday, October 14th. The retreat will begin on the morning of the 15th, and conclude in the mid-afternoon. Coffee, tea, snacks, and lunch will be provided. This year’s speaker will be Dr. Jonathan Master. Dr. Master is the president of Greenville Presbyterian Theological Seminary. He is an excellent preacher, a thoughtful student of history, and a well-received author. He also co-hosts a podcast, “Theology on the Go”. His most recent book is Growing in Grace: Becoming More Like Jesus (Banner of Truth, 2020). This is also the theme of the retreat. And here is a video where Dr. Master addresses the question of “What Should I read When I’m Suffering?”What should I read when I’m suffering?Your to-do list:It’s too early to take registrations, but it is not too early to start planning to attend! Mark your calendars for October 15. Spread the word. Just forward this email to friends who might want to join.If you are not already on the list, sign up to be notified when registration opens: |
